On the 8th July 2016 CEA achieved completion of The South West Regional Cancer Centre in Warrnambool, Victoria. A consortium headed by Epworth Healthcare and Construction Engineering, delivered the project via a Public Private Partnership (PPP). CEA were active in driving the entire process from design management to commencement of services. We have achieved completion ahead of programme and under budget.
At a cost of $28.5 mill, the project includes a broad range of facilities including oncology and radiotherapy services, clinical consulting suites, therapy suites, pharmacy, administration areas and Peter’s Project Supportive Care Centre. The project scope also included the design and construction of a multi-deck car park on an adjacent site across Worland Grove providing 139 spaces.
The challenges of delivering a PPP in a regional centre were overcome largely as a result of the very positive team environment that was created on the project. All team members involved from the State Government, Epworth Healthcare, South West Health, Donald Cant Watts Corke, Silver Thomas Hanley and all other consultants were integral in the success of this project. Congratulations and thanks also to all CEA team members along with our subcontractors.
